Information

The Armored Weapons Museum in Poznań was established in the years 1963-1964 in the barracks in Sołacz district. Initially, it was a collection serving as a teaching aid for the cadets of the Officers' School of Armored Weapons in Poznań. In 2008, the museum's collection of 37 vehicles was entered into the Register of Monuments of Wielkopolska. In October 2019, the Armored Weapon Museum opened its new headquarters in Ławica, already as a branch of the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw. The permanent exhibition tells the history of Polish armored weapons from the Second World War and presents modern armored vehicles. The collected equipment includes tanks, armored guns, transporters, government limousines and technical vehicles. Each of them has a history, most of these vehicles were produced during the Second World War. Visitors will see, among other things, the "Rudy" tank from the "Four Tank-Man and a Dog" series, tanks that starred in the film "Spy Bridge" by Steven Spielberg, the world's only complete, rolling specimen of the Sturmgeschuetz IV self-propelled gun, a unique tankette used in the Battle of Mokka, as well as general Jaruzelski's limousine. Since 2012, the museum's collections can be viewed on the Internet.
