Repecka, Tarnowskie Góry, 42-600
Black Trout Drift is located about 30 km from Katowice (45 minutes drive). This place is interesting for tourists as after closure of Tarnogorskie mines, there is an underground labyrinth of excavations, chambers, extraction galleries and draining drifts. The length of this complex is about 150 km. The part of it is actually our Black Trout Drift, opened for tourists in 1957. It is the longest underground Polish tourist trail that is covered by boats. It has 600 meters. The drift aim was to drain waters from the mine to the earth surface. The guides during the journey not only take care of the boats but also tell tourists about former miners, their work and the mine itself. In the drift, the temperature is constatntly 10 Celsius degrees and there is also high humidity. For this reason it is good to have warm clothes for this trip. The mysterious scenery and uniqueness of the trail are the factors making this place a real tourist must see.
