Branickich Palace is one of the best preserved magnate residences in late Baroque style, often called Polish Versailles of the north. The construction of the palace started in the 16th century. The palace is surrounded by magnificent Baroque gardens. Currently, the palace is the headquarters of Białystok Medical University, which systematically works to restore the palace’s 18th century glory. The palace fulfills science and didactic functions. In the palace-garden complex there are Modern Art Gallery and Medicine and Pharmacy History Museum. The most often visited points by tourists include: the Great Gate, palace’s courtyards, palace itself, upper and lower gardens, arsenal with outbuilding, Pavilion under the Eagle.
