Canoeing on the Reda River

Information

Reda is a river that flows through the northern part of Kashubia. Due to the proximity of the Tri-City, is popular among canoeing enthusiasts due to its proximity and high degree of attractiveness, and a relatively easy section. To swim through the meandering section, you need to know how to maneuver your canoe. This skills can be acquired quickly at the first stage of the river and then enjoy nature. A fantastic river for learning canoeing, due to the not too fast current, small depth and width of the river. The trail is very changeable and extremely diverse. The upper course, from Strzebielin to the estuary to Lake Orle, is very calm. The river meanders among colorful fields and meadows, over which the forested hills of the Żarnowiecka Upland dominate. The only obstacles in this section are wooden footbridges and bridges through which, depending on the water level, the canoe sometimes has to be moved. There are also a lot of narrowing of the river, but for many canoeists it only adds variety to the trip. It is much wider below the Orle Lake. The way to Bolszewo is already a wide and regulated riverbed among avenues overgrown with trees close to the edge.
