Information

Museum “Dętka” (the tube is situated under Plac Wolności (Independence Square) in a part of Łódź sewers, in a historic tank for rain water from 1926. In Dętka corridors tourists can walk around all Independence Square, as they are 142 m long and the tank can cover 300 m3 of water. It is the first sewage system opened for tourists in Poland. The museum and exhibition can be viewed with a guide only and tours are organized every 30 min. At the same time the museum can be visited by only 10 people. Inside visitors can admire, apart from the architecture, also an exhibition devoted to Łódź water supply and sewage systems including many photos, historic documents and items. It is a unique museum in our country and therefore, worth visiting.
