Information

The ruins are situated 103 from Warsaw (about 1.5 h drive) and 107 km from Łódź (about 1h 35 min). The castle was built from bricks and stones in 1527-1535, for Gniezno Archbishop, in Gothic-Renaissance style. It was a rectangle quite similar to a square (37 x 43 meters) with 4 corner towers, 2 moats and a rampart. The complex consisted of 2 residential 3 story houses and the towers had 5 floors. Unfortunately, the building burnt in 1814 and since then it has been a ruin. Currently, tourists can visit it only from the outside. From the town’s centre it is about 5 minutes walk to get to the ruins. The visit of the castle usually takes about 30 min. The ruins are a nice attraction for all Medieval times enthusiasts.
