Experiment Science Center (Polish: Centrum Nauki Experyment) is still fairly new as it was opened in 2013 and it is located at 96/98 Zwycięztwa Avenue. It is an unusual place as all the exhibitions there are fully interactive. They present science topics in a funny, interesting and enjoyable way. The center area is 3 500 m2 and you will find here about 120 interactive exhibits. The main exhibitions include: a water world, a tree of life, human mission, invisible forces and a virtual world of Leorado da Vinci’s inventions. Apart from the exhibitions the center also has a wide offer of additional activities for both individuals and groups such as workshops, lectures, meetings and classes which ideally complement a visit in the center. Although, Experiment Center is fairly new at Gdynia’s map, it is definitely worth visiting.
The Experyment Science Center was opened in 2007 in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia, as one of the first facilities of this type in Poland. It was expanded in 2010 and in 2013 it started operating in a new headquarters. A modern exhibition facility combined with a conference complex was built then. The exhibition space has been increased sevenfold, and laboratory rooms have been created. In the following years, the Center presented numerous temporary exhibitions and expanded the scope of permanent exhibitions. It has developed many forms of educational, cultural and scientific activities.
The Center is an unusual experimental laboratory for small and large discoverers - amateurs. You can conduct experiments on your own, learning about the laws taking place in nature. At the EXPERYMENT Science Center, the stands are designed in the way so that visitors can conduct experiments and study phenomena from various fields of science in safe conditions.
Experyment's task is to popularize science and stimulate creativity, but also to provide great and interesting entertainment. It is possible thanks to interestingly designed interactive exhibitions presenting the unusual phenomena of the world around us in a simple and understandable way. Here you can use various, sometimes cosmic-looking devices, the operation of which will be a real surprise.
There are permanent and temporary exhibitions in the center. Each has a different theme and focuses on a different field of science, illustrating phenomena from particular groups.
Hydroworld. Is an exhibition related to hydrology. Here you can find out how the dam, sluice or Archimedes screw works. You play the role of engineers by constructing and putting in motion complex mechanisms. You will also have the option to create a two-meter jacuzzi yourself!
Tree of Life. The exhibition will take you to the world of nature, both beautiful and dangerous. The Tree of Life is a site that also serves as an observation deck. In this zone you will learn about the life of animals, including those from ancient times, experience an earthquake on your own skin and you will be able to admire the natural photoplasticon. You can also stand in a virtual race with slower and faster animals.
Action: human. It is an exhibition where you learn about the secrets of the functioning of the human body. Interactive stands will answer the following questions: how are we built? How do our senses function and can they deceive us? Here you can become a little blood cell in a big heart for a while, and even perform a virtual operation and see what it will look like in 30 years!
Invisible forces. The exhibition will show the physical universe without resorting to patterns and graphs. The puzzles about the center of gravity, pressure, magnetism or sound waves will become child's play. Visitors will also be able to see how this field of science makes it easier to lift a car with one hand or to strengthen our handle so that it is easy to carry a very heavy stone.
Leonardo da Vinci's virtual world of inventions. This is an exhibition dedicated to the genius master. You will learn about his inventions by viewing virtual exhibits on a tablet or smartphone. Leonardo himself tells about them.
Goldberg's machine. It is an exhibition intended for small engineers who want to face the interesting challenge of building the largest and most complex domino-like structure. It is not easy at all! You will find out on the spot ...
The Experyment offer is complemented by temporary exhibitions. Thanks to the rotation, you can present new issues constantly and visits will never get bored. The Experyment Center also conducts lectures, lessons and workshops for schools and families, there is also the Experyment Academy.
A visit to the Center is not only an interesting idea to spend free time for the whole family or a group of friends, but also a unique opportunity to establish a scientific interaction, stimulate hidden passions and conduct experiments that inspire and teach creativity.
