Falowiec (Polish: Falowiec Gdański) in the Przymorze district in Gdańsk at Obrońców Wybrzeża Street is the longest residential building in Poland. It is the second longest residential building in Europe. It has 11 stories (10 plus the ground floor), 16 staircases, 1792 apartments, with nearly six thousand tenants. Dimensions - 32 meters high, 13 meters wide, 860 meters long. The shape of the buildings resembles a sea wave. The first residents moved in in 1971. The size of the building changes the air movement. In the north of Falowiec it is cooler, and in winter the snow stays longer. The southern part of the building is warmer, and in summer, when temperatures are high, the vegetation dries faster. Between the buildings there are numerous playgrounds and a bicycle town with a mini-roundabout and a two-level intersection. One of the smallest apartments in the Tri-City, with an area of 17 sq m, are located in Falowiec buildings.
