Information

Frombork is a small town in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, on the shores of the Vistula Lagoon. It was the workplace of the most famous astronomer of modern Europe - Nicolaus Copernicus. Hence, many of the local tourist attractions are associated with his activities. The most important and the most valuable place in Frombork is the Cathedral Hill. The main building of this complex is the Gothic Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but visitors can admire many more interesting objects here, made available to tourists in the form of the Nicolaus Copernicus Museum, including The Radziejowski Tower. There is a planetarium in the basement of the Radziejowski Tower. On a special dome, tourists can watch a map of the sky and educational films on astronomy. In addition to the Cathedral Hill in Frombork, visitors can see the Church of St. Nicholas, the Water Tower or the hospital complex of the Holy Spirit from the Museum of Medicine. A great attraction are also trips by boat or hydrofoil on the Vistula Lagoon, starting in the port in Frombork. A few kilometers outside the city, towards the village of Ronin, there is the Astronomical Park, in which night sky shows are organized.
