Fort Gerhard is an extraordinary place that lets visitor see the Fort under the care of a "uniformed" Prussian soldier.
The fort was built in the 19-th century. It is one of the best-preserved Prussian coastal forts in Europe.
Since 2001, it has been the seat of the historic last Prussian commander in Europe.
The barracks of the battalion are to be seen.
Ca. 500 000 tourists have already passed through the fort.
