Gołuchów Castle Museum (Polish: Muzeum Zamek w Gołuchowie) is located about 1:45 h drive from Poznań (116 km). The building was constructed in 1550-1560 as an early Renaissance structure. It is said that it is like a French breeze in Poland as the palace’s shape alludes to the famous Loara Castles. Currently, the palace is a unit of Poznań National Museum and it offers tourists a visit to historic interiors and various exhibitions such as collection of Greek vases, tapestries, Renaissance European paintings, furniture and handicraft. Sightseeing is possible with a guide and it takes about 1 h. In the palace outbuilding called Czartoryskich Palace there is also a Forestry Museum and restaurant. Both buildings are surrounded by an interesting, well maintained, 162 hectare English park which has lots of unique and exotic trees. In the park there is also St. John the Baptist Chapel which is also a mausoleum. This is why sightseeing of the whole complex with a stroll in the park usually takes about 3-4 hours.
