Grabarka Mountain is the most important place of cult for Orthodox religion and is connected to icon of Christ the Savior. The place is almost famous for miraculous healings. Grabarka village is situated about 158 km from Warsaw (2.5 h brive) and 88 km (1 h 22 min drive) from border crossing with Belorussia: Terespol-Brześć. In Grabarka, a female monastery was erected and also 3 Orthodox churches. Transfiguration Church is the parish church. The believers and tourists usually visit the whole complex of Grabarka – monastery settlement. One of the most distinctive features is a cross forest. The crosses are brought there by the believers for the most important here holiday of Transfiguration which is held on 18-19 August. They create nowadays “the forest” of about 10 000 crosses. Grabarka Mountain is an interesting cult place which is really worth visiting.
