Hala Gąsienicowa, Zakopane
Hala Gąsienicowa in the Tatra Mountains leads to Murowaniec mountain hostel. In the olden days it was one of the biggest sheep mountain pastures. It was also visited by famous highland robbers. Pasturage in this area ended only in 1964. This picturesque place is an interchange of various tourist trails (blue, yellow, black and green). Moreover, Murowaniec mountain hostel is a skiing base. The trail from Kuźnice to Murowaniec is not the easiest one. Still, it offers amazing views to Zakopane. Trekking takes about 2 h. Some of the tourists also choose going to Kasprowy Wierch by cableway and descending from the mountain via Hala Gąsienicowa and Murowaniec. It takes about 3:30 h. Hala Gąsienicowa has high mountain characteristics. You will find here massive rocks and dwarf mountain pines, all that surrounded by majestic peaks and numerous ponds. It is a place definitely worth visiting but is also quite demanding for tourists.
