7 Okopowa Street, Gdańsk, 80-819
Invisible Gdańsk is a completely unusual museum. The tour takes place in complete darkness, under the supervision of one of the guides who live in darkness every day and know how to move around in it perfectly. During the tour, they not only tell about what is on display, but also share their experiences, talk about the barriers they face every day and the challenges they have to face. Above all, however, they show that disability does not make them different. Discovering the exhibition takes place through touch, hearing and smell. At the end of the tour, in the illuminated part, the guide shows various items useful in the life of a blind person or explains the basic principles of the Braille alphabet. The aim of the museum is to enter the world of blind people for a while and discover reality with all the senses except sight. The Invisible Gdańsk Museum was established in the premises of the Centromor building in Śródmieście. The exhibition is open daily from 11am to 7pm (Mon to Thu) and 10am to 8pm (Fri to Sun). Visiting the exhibition takes place in groups of no more than six people.
