3 Zamkowa Street, Kurozwęki, 28-200
The first castle in Kurozwęki was built in the second half of the 14th century. From 1521 to 1747 the castle belonged to Lanckoroński family. During this time it was rebuilt and from Gothic stronghold it became Renaissance Palace. In years 1768-72 it was rebuilt again and it gained Baroque and Classicistic features. Unfortunately, post World War II period brought great devastation of the palace. It became a state property, a state owned farm and later state offices. Luckily, in 1991 the palace was purchased by prewar owners and since than it has been gaining its former glory. Nowadays, tourists can visit the palace interiors with a guide, have a meal in summer restaurant and visit mini zoo. A great attraction is also possibility of observing a herd of buffalos (currently about 80 animals) or strolling in a maze located in the palace’s park. Kurozwęki is also a place where weddings and conferences are held. Sightseeing of the palace and surroundings takes about 1.5 h.
