Łowicz Museum (Polish: Muzeum w Łowiczu) presents history of the Łowicz region and the folk culture of the inhabitants of the Łowicz region, known as the "Księżacy Łowiccy". The facility consists of four sections: artistic and historical, archaeological, ethnographic and historical documentation, it also includes a library. The archaeological department collects relics from the late Palaeolithic period to modern times. The exhibits include Neolithic stone tools, bronze cups, a Bronze Age Hungarian dagger and sword, a necklace made of glass beads and shells from the Old Iron Age, and much more. The museum presents four permanent exhibitions: Baroque art in Poland, History of the city and the region, Ethnography of the Duchy of Łowicz and the Memorial Chamber of the Jews of Łowicz. The facility also presents numerous and varied temporary exhibitions. In addition to the main department, the museum has two open-air museums. The first one is located next to the museum in the garden next to the main building. It is the Open-Air Folk Architecture Center. Visitors can admire the oldest residential and farm buildings from the area of the former region of Łowicz. The second open-air museum is the Lowicz Ethnographic Park in Maurzyce. It also collects architectural monuments, but on a much larger scale. There are over 40 sites, most of them from the second half of the 19th century. 19th and 1st half XX century.
