Information

The Museum of Ancient Metallurgy in the Świętokrzyskie Region in Nowa Słupia was established in 1960. The facility was established in connection with the discovery of ancient metallurgical furnaces in Nowa Słupia, on the road to Święty Krzyż. The museum exhibition presents the technology of the former Świętokrzyskie metallurgy, its territorial scope and products obtained with historical methods. The history of research and excavations is also presented. The Metallurgy Museum has many exhibits and boards, in the exhibition halls, elements made of iron smelting are presented. The exhibits are located both inside the Museum building and outside the Museum. The museum is a year-round facility, open except Mondays. The facility is one of the co-organizers of the event called “Dymarki Świętokrzyskie”. The show features ore and charcoal exploitation and preparation, building ground furnaces (known as dymarki), iron smelting in shaft furnaces, to casting tools and ornaments.
