Information

The Palace in Walewice was built in the years 1773-1783 for the chamberlain of King Stanisław August Poniatowski - Anastazy Walewski. This is one of the first classicist palaces in Poland. The complex of buildings consists of a palace, a stable and a coach house from the second half of the 19th century, as well as farm buildings, a starch mill and a granary from the end of the 18th century. Maria Walewska née Łączyńska lived in Walewice, and here also the son of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte - Aleksander Colonna-Walewski was born. Currently, the palace with the entire complex of buildings and the park is the seat of the "Stud Walewice" company dealing in breeding semi-Arabian horses. The basic herd currently has 80 breeding horses, including over 30 bred mares that meet the elite conditions for entry in the International Book of Anglo-Arabian Horses. The mission of the stud is to maintain an exemplary herd of Małopolska mares and breed the best horses of this breed with the improvement of the genotype. Walewice is also a hotel. There are 70 beds in the palace (in nine apartments and 4 rooms) and in the Old Coach House (17 stylish rooms), as well as the Palace restaurant.
