Potato Museum of Poznań

Information

Potato Museum of Poznań (Polish: Poznańskie Muzeum Pyry) is located on 18 Wronicka Street in Poznań, which is one of the three side streets on the north wall of the Old Market Square. However, the entrance to the museum is from Mokra Street. Potato Museum is a modern tourist facility entirely devoted to the potato. Potatoes, called "pyra" in the vicinity of Poznań, are one of the symbols of Poznań, just like the Poznań goats. In the museum, visitors will learn everything about the history of the potato, how it ended up in Europe, what it is associated with and who brought it to Poland. The first point of the tour program is a workshop during which participants will prepare a potato yourself, seasoning it with various spices. Then the potato will go to the oven, and after the tour is finished, it will be packed for pickup. The museum is visited with a guide and visits always start on the hourly basis. The ticket price includes a guided tour of the museum and workshops.
