Pruszcz Gdański
Pruszcz Gdański, the capital of the Gdańsk poviat, is a city situated on the Radunia River, with a settlement tradition going back two and a half thousand years. Thanks to this, visitors can find quite unusual attractions in Pruszcz Gdański. The attention of tourists in Pruszcz is primarily attracted by "Faktoria", a reconstruction of the former amber settlement and the Amber Route from the Roman period. Factoria consists of: The Chief Hut – museum exposition, The Market Hall – a place of ‘meetings with archeology’, and reconstructions of The Amber Craftsman Hut and The Blacksmith Hut, all of them were intended as a place of connection of new technologies with the richness of archeological monuments and the beauty of amber exhibits. The city also has a lot of monuments entered in the Register of Real Estate of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. They include, among others Parish Church Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a residential house from around 1800 located at 6 Short Street, Radunia Canal, Pruszcz Sugar Factory Complex, and Parish Church Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Other monuments include the Pruszcz I Hydro Plant from 1921 and the building of a closed gas station, existing since at least 1928.
