2 Jana Pawła II Street, Radzyń Podlaski, 21-300
Radzyń Podlaski is situated about 147 km from Warsaw (about 2 h drive) and about 82 km from Lublin (about 1:15 h drive). The palace was erected at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. At the beginning it was a Baroque residence of representational and defensive character. However, it was rebuilt by Potocki magnate family and it became the most beautiful Rococo residence in Poland. The park and residence plan were created according to French entre cour et Cardin philosophy of an axis symmetry. Unfortunately, in 1944 retreating Nazi German army set fire to the palace. Up to now survived only the park with ponds, main body of the palace with wings and gate towers and orangery. Tourists can see only the outside part of the palace as inside there are offices of various local authorities. Still, the palace is worth visiting, as being richly decorated, it is an amazing example of Polish Rococo magnate residence.
