The Rotunda of Saint Prokop in Strzelno is the largest Romanesque temple in Poland built on a circular plan. The entry in the chronicles of Jan Długosz gives the date March 16, 1133 as the day of her consecrationThe building was made of granite stone blocks with sandstone structural and decorative elements, with later brick elements. The rotunda, which serves as the nave, is adjoined by: on the eastern side - the chancel on a square plan, covered with a rib vault; from the north - two small apses; to the west - a high, horseshoe tower with a prominent escarpment on the west side and a gallery on the first floor. . It is the only Romanesque temple with a rectangular chancel. In the chancel, on the left, there is a reconstruction of the church's Romanesque foundation tympanum from the 12th century, the original of which was destroyed in 1945. The copy was made on the basis of a cast from the collection of the National Museum in Krakow and a photograph of the original from the archives of the provincial conservator of monuments in Poznań. Three figures are presented on the tympanum: in the central part, Christ enthroned, and on the left-hand side, the figure of a young founder donating a model of the rotunda, reflecting its architectural appearance, and on the right, a woman with an open book.
