Saint Cross gives the opportunity to see a splint from Christ Cross has been kept since medieval times. The relics ware a gift from St. Emeryk in 11th century. Thanks to this gift the mountains in this region are called St. Cross Mountains. The monastery was built by Polish King at Łysa Góra summit which is now also called St. Cross peak at 594 m above sea level. It is the second highest summit in St. Cross Mountains. At the top of the mountain we can see an interesting rock debris formations which are known in this area as “gołoborze” (naked forest). At the top of the mountain the main attractions include national park museum and monastery of Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Climbing the mountain can be made along red (fairly easy) or blue tourist trails or it is also possible to get there by a tourist train or in a cart from the parking lot in Szklana Huta (2 km asphalt road). The monastery can be visited on your own or with a guide. Apart from seeing the splinter of St. Cross, tourists can also visit missionary museum or see prince Jeremi Wiśniowiecki mummy in his crypt.
