Staging of the Battle of Heilsberg

Information

The staging of the Battle of Heilsberg (now Lidzbark Warmiński) is the largest Napoleonic historical reconstruction in Poland. In terms of the number of soldiers (Napoleonic and Russian-Prussian) and the losses suffered by both sides, it was the largest Napoleonic battle fought on the ground in today's Poland. The battle took place on June 10, 1807. Its reconstruction is organized every year in Lidzbark Warmiński. For history lovers, it is an event worth attending. They will have the opportunity to see over 500 reenactors from Poland and abroad (including infantry, artillery and cavalry), spectacular pyrotechnic explosions, concerts and art shows, or a fair referring to the 19th-century tradition, culture and craftsmanship. By the way, it is worth visiting the Regional Chamber of Tradition, which houses collections of military and utility items from the 17th-20th centuries found in Warmia and Mazury.
