Information

Tarnica is the highest peak in the Bieszczady Mountains on the Polish side. It has 1346 meters. It is one of the Polish Crown Peaks. The summit towers 500 metres above the Wołosatka Valley. The name of the peak comes from the Romanian word "tarnita" which means saddle. There are several benches and a metal cross on the top. It is 8.5 meters high, weighs half a ton and is the third such object standing in this place. It was placed there in 2000. The fastest route to the summit leads along the blue trail from Wołosate, the most beautiful trail leads through Halicz and Rozsypaniec.
