Information

The Gothic castle in Tworków was built in the 16th century on the site of an earlier medieval stronghold. The property has changed its owners and appearance over the centuries, but the biggest changes were introduced by the last, as it turned out, family. The von Saurm-Jeltsch family rebuilt the palace in 1872-74, in the neo-renaissance style. At that time, a neo-gothic four-sided tower was built in the east wing, and the courtyard was surrounded by arcades. In 1931, a huge fire broke out in the palace, which destroyed the entire building. Since then, the palace has never been rebuilt, and in addition, it burned down for the second time during World War II. Currently, the palace in Tworków is owned by the Krzyżanowice commune, to which Tworków belongs, and security works are carried out here. The palace is open to tourists all year round for free. There are further plans for the development of this place. It is planned to build a viewing platform on the castle tower and rebuild the coach house, which is to be used for cultural purposes.
