Information

Kadzielnia is a reserve with an area of 0.6 ha, located in Kielce between Krakowska, Pakosz streets and Na Stadion Avenue. It was founded in 1962. As part of visiting the reserve, it is possible to enter the caves in Kadzielnia, which are fragments of the underground karst system formed in limestones in the Cenozoic land period, most likely in the Neogene, several million years ago. There are currently 25 caves in Kadzielnia. They were all discovered thanks to the cutting of the hill and karst canals by the quarry. The longest system is currently formed by the 392 m long line of the Discoverers' Cave, Gunpowder House and Cracks in Kadzielnia, connected as part of the works making these caves accessible to tourists. The larger caves of Kadzielnia also include: Eastern Cave (100 m), Jeleniowska Cave (36 m) and Zwaliskowa Cave (30 m). The underground tourist route, 160 meters long, is open to the public. During the tour visitors can see, among others fossils of the Devonian sea (corals, brachiopods, daylilies, cephalopods), tectonic, mineralization and karst phenomena (faults, mineral veins, stalagmites, stalactites) and silt. Kadzielnia Caves are available to tourists from April 1 to October 31, from Tuesday to Sunday. The tour takes place in groups of up to 12 people with a guide.

Please note that ITS-Poland works with groups only (10 participants and more).
