Information

The Lobkowitzów Palace in Żagań (Polish: Pałac Książęcy Lobkowitzów w Żaganiu) is one of the most magnificent baroque buildings in Poland. Built in the years 1631-86, during the Thirty Years' War, it was the residence of many dukes for centuries. The construction was initiated by Albrecht von Wallenstein. It was designed by the Italian architect Vincenzo Boccaccia. The building consists of three floors, and its facades are richly decorated with architectural details. The entrance to the palace, on the north and west sides, is preceded by two brick bridges that lead over a dry moat. A beautiful landscape park stretches around the buildings, which is already considered the most beautiful in Silesia and one of the most magnificent in Central Europe. Currently, various cultural and business events take place in the Palace. The facility is also the seat of the company Pałac Książęcy and the Cultural Center in Żagań.
