23 Leśna Street, Olsztynek, 11-015
The Folk Architecture Museum - Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek currently covers an area of 94 ha. The first 12 buildings were transferred during the war from the museum of rural architecture existing in Königsberg from 1913. In the following years, it was systematically expanded. Today it manages 79 facilities, conducting important educational activities and caring for the cultural heritage of the region. The museum houses rural buildings from Warmia, Masuria and other areas of former East Prussia. They come from different periods and perform different functions, so visitors can get an idea of how the countryside has changed over the years. There are residential, religious, economic and industrial buildings here. Inside the buildings, there are traditional items for everyday use in the countryside in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as collections of folk art. There is also a Mini ZOO and beautiful gardens in the open-air museum. The museum organizes various exhibitions and conducts museum lessons.
