Information

The Museum of Folk Architecture in Sanok (Polish: Muzeum Budownictwa Ludowego w Sanoku) is the first and largest ethnographic museum in Poland in terms of the number of collected objects, established after the Second World War. It covers an area of 38 ha. It contains 200 buildings which have been relocated from different areas of Sanok Land (Low Beskids, Pogórze Bukowskie, Doły Jasielsko Sanockie). It shows 19th and early 20th century life in this area of Poland. Folk architecture presented in the open-air museum is associated with four ethnic groups living in the area of today's Podkarpackie Province before World War II: Boyko, Lemko, Pogórzanie and Dolinians. Each ethnographic group has a separate sector reflecting the former appearance of the village. It includes residential, farm, industrial, public and religious buildings, including a village school, an inn, a water mill, windmills, forges, crafts workshops, churches and chapels. Most of the interiors are equipped and open to the public, but only with a museum guide. The open-air museum changes with the seasons.

Please note that ITS-Poland works with groups only (10 participants and more).
