Information

The Royal Route is a route leading through Gniezno, containing interesting places, monuments, models and information points. It was established in 2018 and you can navigate through it using a mobile application or a paper guide. The recommended starting point is the train station, but you can also start anywhere. The Royal Route in Gniezno consists of statues of the first five kings of Poland, two figures from Piast legends, four educational models, eight information boards and three interactive kiosks. Additional elements that tell the story of Gniezno are the sculptures of rabbits. Fifteen statues of rabbits are arranged in the topography of Gniezno and refer to the most important moments and figures in the history of the city. By following these rabbits and kings, tourists will not only learn more about specific events that took place in Gniezno, but also get to know interesting places to visit, including many beautiful churches, the Museum of the Origins of the Polish State, the area of the Engine House and many others. The application that guides us along the Royal Route is called Rabbit GOń and it is free. It locates us using GPS. When approaching the object, it is worth turning it on and answering the quiz question. While visiting, we gain points that give us new and higher ranks!
