Information

The Upper Wierzchowska Cave (Polish: Jaskinia Wierzchowska Górna) is located in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, on the slope of the upper part of the Kluczwoda Valley in Wierzchowie. It is the second longest cave in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The corridors are 975 m in total. Is the longest cave adapted for sightseeing in Poland. It leads along the winding Long Isthmus through the Cauldron Hall and the Hotel to the largest cave chamber - the Ballroom, and then to the First Man Hall. Bats (mainly lesser horseshoe bats) and meta menardi spiders are a big attraction. Wierzchowska Cave can be visited with a qualified guide. The route is marked out, safe and professionally illuminated. The cave has the status of a natural monument in the Jurassic Landscape Park "Dolinki Podkrakowskie" and is one of the key points of the tourist and recreational program called the Jurassic Ring.
