Waterfall on the Mosorny Stream

Information

The waterfall on Mosorny Potok is one of the most interesting attractions in the vicinity of Zawoja. The waterfall is located on the blue trail leading from Zawoja Mosorne to Hala Śmietanowa and further to Kiczorka. Despite the small distance from residential buildings, the gorge of the stream is located in a secluded, forest corner. The waterfall on Mosorny Potok descends from an eight-meter sill, which is arranged in several rock steps. The threshold of the waterfall is surrounded on both sides by several-meter-high rock walls. The tourists can approach the waterfall itself. The waterfall on Mosorny Potok is one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in the Polish Beskids. There is a legend in local folklore that concerns the waterfall's extraordinary inhabitants. The main character of the legend is Małgośka from Trybała, who was a great midwife. She helped women in childbirth. One night, a tall, thin man with a pale face came to her for help. He led her to a waterfall and suddenly a mysterious entrance appeared. It turned out that the family living under the waterfall are drowners - folk spirits living close to water sources.
