The Russian attack on Ukraine on the 24th of February 2022, was a shock for the whole international community. It is obvious for all the Poles that it is our duty to help the war victims and all war refugees that seek help in our country. Poland has granted all the refugees the same civil rights as Polish citizens including access to health care system, employment rights and educational system. Poland also is a great hub for military and humanitarian support for Ukraine. ITS-Poland tries to help refugees as well. This time we want to share with you some details of volunteer group stay organisation that we have performed pro bono for volunteers that wished to help Ukrainians. The group was coming to Poland from the United States, counted 10 volunteers and stayed in Warsaw and Hrebenne between 3 and 14.05.2022. ITS-Poland has organized for the group hotel accommodation, Hrebenne border transfers and contacted them with refugee help providers. The group was first helping refugees at PTAK Expo near Warsaw which is the largest relocation hub for Ukrainian Refugees in Europe. Up to this point the hub has hosted 75 thousand refugees. The area of the Centre is 150 000 sqm and it can respectively house as many as 20 000 refugees at one time. This is why the volunteer help is very needed there. Later on part of the group has also joined Polish Humanitarian Action and helped the refugees at the first help line at Hrebenne border crossing between Poland and Ukraine. We are very happy that we were able to help and organize the volunteer stay in Poland.
