How can we prepare for an Auschwitz visit?

In terms of clothing it is good to wear good and comfortable walking shoes as both Auschwitz and Birkenau Camps are huge so there is quite a lot of walking. In terms of spiritual experiences it is good to read something about the camp before entering the site to lower the shock. Auschwitz main website offers many materials about the place and WWII in general.
