Smreczyński Staw (Fir Tree Pond) is an ideal continuation of the Stroll in Kościeliska Valley and visit in mountain hostel at Ornak mountain pasture. From the mountain hostel the journey to the lake takes about 30 minutes of not very demanding climb (there are only two stretches with steeper climbs). Tatra National Park was created in 1955 to protect Polish Tatra mountain area which consists of the only mountain range in Poland with alpine character. Morskie Oko (Sea Eye) in the Tatra National Park is the biggest and the most beautiful lake in Zakopane area (lake length is 862 meters, width 568 meters, depth 51.8 m). The waters of Morskie Oko are turquoise in colour and the lake itself is surrounded by the highest peaks in the Polish Tatra Mountains. Black Pond below Rysy Summit (Polish: Czarny Staw pod Rysami) is also called Czarny Staw nad Morskim Okiem (Black Pond above Sea Eye Pond). Czarny Staw lays at 1 583 meters above sea level which means 188 m higher than Morskie Oko pond. The area of the pond is 20.64 hectares and its maximum depth 76.4 m which makes it the second deepest pond in the Tatras and the fourth deepest in Poland. Kasprowy Wierch in Zakopane area provides length of the journey almost 4.3 km. The height difference between the first station in Kuźnice and the destination station at Kasprowy Wierch is 936 m.
