Kościeliska Valley

The Kościeliska Valley is located in the Tatra National Park. It is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Tatras. It is a great walking place for all groups of tourists. In the Kościeliska Valley there are numerous caves, including several made available to tourists: Mroźna Cave, Raptawicka Cave, Obłazowa Cave, Mylna Cave, and Dragon's Cave. The Kościeliski Stream flows through the bottom of the Kościeliska Valley. In its upper part there i...

Lejowa Valley, Zakopane

Lejowa Valley, Zakopane

Lejowa Valley is situated near Zakopane. It is one of rarer visited valleys so, it offers a more peaceful trail without crowds of other tourists. Lejowa Valley is situated between Kościeliska and Chochołowska Valleys and is 4.5 km long. At the bottom of the valley flows Lejowy Stream, which creates very picturesque views along the trail. The hike in the valley takes about 1 h in one direction along yellow tourist trail. The trail is almost fla...

Strążyska Valley

Strążyska Valley

The red trail in Strążyska Valley starts at the end of Strążyska street in Zakopane and the car park there. The stroll there takes about 45 minutes and from the red trail we encourage you also to take 5 minutes walk by yellow trail to Siklawica waterfall. The stroll in Strążyska valley is easy as mostly it takes place on a flat land along a beautiful mountain creek (Potok Strążyski) and over many wooden bridges along the creek. It is an ideal ...

Gubałówka, Zakopane

Gubałówka, Zakopane

Gubałówka summit is 1123 m above sea level. First of all, it is amazing as it offers the best panorama for High Tatras and Zakopane city. Secondly, you don’t need to be in a great physical shape to get there. It is just a short ride in a funny and original diagonal mountain train. Finally, at the summit you can have a delicious meal of highlander cuisine, souvenir shopping, a sunbath, a bob-sleigh ride, or you can have a skiing or snowboarding...

Morskie Oko, Zakopane

Morskie Oko (Sea Eye) in the Tatra National Park is the biggest and the most beautiful lake in Zakopane area (lake length is 862 meters, width 568 meters, depth 51.8 m). The waters of Morskie Oko are turquoise in colour and the lake itself is surrounded by the highest peaks in the Polish Tatra Mountains. The lake is at 1 395 meters above sea level but it is fairly easy to get there. Although the trail to it has about 8 km it is a tarmac road w...

Smreczyński Staw (Fir Tree Pond) is an ideal continuation of the Stroll in Kościeliska Valley and visit in mountain hostel at Ornak mountain pasture. From the mountain hostel the journey to the lake takes about 30 minutes of not very demanding climb (there are only two stretches with steeper climbs). The trail to the lake has a black colour and 1.2 km length. The difference of the height between the mountain hostel and lake is 120 m. The lake ...

Reviews

This is probably the most popular winter season place in Poland. Our guides and hotel stuff were helpful and kind and very knowledgeable about the places worth visiting. It is to be highly recommended and suitable for all age groups. We hope to return soon.

A real must see when visiting south of Poland! Zakopane is a very special place in Poland. Visited by millions of tourists each year both from Poland and abroad, lively during both summer and in winter. In winter it is a lively ski resort which is perfect for apres-ski. In the summer is turns into a base for hikes to the beautiful Tatra mountains and valleys. Everything is here: restaurants, pubs, shopping, markets, live local highlander music and dance shows, spas, family attractions, etc. My favorite was our visit to Morskie Oko Lake. This is a natural lake trapped in the surrounding mountains. First a horse drawn sledge takes you about 2/3 of the distance to the lake. Then you walk the remaining distance (about 30 min walk). This area is gorgeous. There is a trail around the lake and I well worth the time if not too slippery because of ice.
