Information

Barania Góra is a popular peak of the Silesian Beskids, located in its south-eastern part, in the area of the city of Wisła. It is the second highest peak in this range, after Skrzyczne, often visited by tourists. Its height is 1220 m above sea level. Barania Góra is known primarily for the fact that it is here that the source of the Vistula River flows out (the longest river in Poland), namely two of the three springs of the Vistula (Biała and Czarna Wisełka) - the area of the springs is a protected area. There is also the nature reserve "Barania Góra" with an area of 386 ha, covering the top parts of the mountain together with the spring area of the Vistula. The popular tourist peak can be reached via several popular mountain trails. Each of them is varied and full of amazing views. At Barania there is a junction of tourist routes leading to the surrounding peaks and nearby towns, incl. to Skrzyczne (1257 m above sea level), Malinowska Skała, Salmopolska Pass (934 m above sea level), to the Black Vistula and Węgierska Górka. The red Main Beskid Trail runs through the summit. Barania Góra is a great vantage point. There is an observation tower at the top. In the Przysłop clearing (900 m a.s.l.) near Barania Góra there is a Shelter on Przysłop and the Museum of Mountain Tourism.
