Canoeing on the Krzytnia River

Information

The Krztynia River is a small river. Its length is about 27 kilometers. It is the left tributary of the Pilica River. The Krztynia and Pilica canoeing trips are an ideal proposition for groups accommodated in the central part of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. It is best to start the trip from Bonowice in the place where Żebrówka flows into Krztynia. After several dozen meters, the participants will sail to Krztynia. Initially, the river is shallow, with a sandy bottom. Then, behind the Tęgobrze village, the riverbed becomes narrower, there are sharp meanders, a sandy bottom, sandy and silty in places, and the current is blocked by trees and the metal remnant of the footbridge. Near the Krztynia bridge, during high water, the riverbed slowly cuts through to the Pilica river which flows 80m on the right. Due to its nature, numerous fallen trees and a lot of water vegetation, the river is not suitable for canoeing with small children.

Please note that ITS-Poland works with groups only (10 participants and more).
