Information

Kaskady Rodła is the most beautiful complex of natural water steps not only in the Silesian Beskids, but in the entire Beskids. They consist of about 25 natural waterfalls and river rapids on the Biała Wisełka, on the slopes of Barania Góra. The height of the waterfalls at this point is from 0.5 to 5 meters. The two largest ones are located in the upper section and are 3.5 and 5 meters high. The slope of the riverbed is high here, ranging from 8 to 10%. The higher thresholds are located in the Istebna layers of the Carpathian flysch (massive sandstones and conglomerates). At the foot of the waterfalls, you can see beautifully carved eversion cauldrons, that is, the rock carvings of the river bed. The lower thresholds have been carved in the Godul strata (small-lane sandstones and shales). The slopes of the ravines, next to the waterfalls, are covered with monumental spruce and fir trees, about 170 years old. Below them are beautiful natural regeneration of spruce, fir and beech trees. Kaskady Rodła is eagerly visited by tourists. It is an extremely picturesque sight. An asphalt road leads through the valley along the waterfalls, available even for families with small children, and further, behind the highest waterfall, the blue trail turns into a mountain trail and leads to the popular Barania Góra.
