Information

The Renaissance castle in Pułtusk is located on a small hill above the Narew River. The castle was built by Płock bishops at the end of the 14th century. The building was destroyed many times, including during the Swedish Deluge, the Third Northern War, the Kościuszko Uprising or the Napoleonic Wars. Over the centuries, the castle served various functions. In the past, it housed the seat of bishops together with the first printing house in Mazovia, then a hospital and gendarmerie were established here. Currently, is intended for the needs of the "Dom Polonii" hotel. The hotel offers guests numerous attractions. It houses, among others, a water equipment rental, tennis courts, a playground for children, a beach volleyball court and a pool table. In addition, the facility organizes gondola cruises on the Narew River, as well as shows of cannon shots. Temporary exhibitions are organized on the ground floor of the west wing. In addition to hotel activities, there is also the Center for Documentation of Polish Emigration. Souvenirs from the history of the city and the castle can be seen in the Regional Museum.
