Zakłady Ceramiczne BOLESŁAWIEC in Bolesławiec is one of the largest producers of hand-formed and hand-decorated table ceramics with a unique stamping technique. The plant was established on June 1, 1889. It was founded by a German trader, Herman Hoffman. Initially, the plant produced ceramic pipes. After the Second World War, the well-known Krakow artist Tadeusz Szafran began work on the resumption of the work of the factory in Bolesławiec. In 1794, Mrs. Janina Bany-Kozłowska, a designer, joined the plant. At that time, the production of decorated table ceramics was launched. The pottery production process at Zakłady Ceramiczne BOLESŁAWIEC is extremely complex. The dishes are made exclusively of natural clays which burn cream-colored. The raw materials from which the dishes are made come mainly from the vicinity of Bolesławiec and are suitable for the production of stoneware products fired at a temperature above 1200 degrees C. Currently, ceramic plants offer over 20 different categories of decorated products, in 5 different types of decorations. They produce not only tableware and kitchen utensils, but also decorative accessories such as figurines, beads, a soap bottles, a toothbrush holders. In addition, the company's offer includes giant dishes, which enjoy great popularity in Poland and abroad.
