8 Czartoryskich Street, Puławy, 24-100
The Czartoryski Museum in Puławy (Polish:Muzeum Czartoryskich w Puławach) was opened in 2009. It refers to the idea of the first Polish museum, founded here by Princess Izabela Czartoryska née Flemming. In 1801 she opened the Sibyl Temple, and in 1809 the Gothic House. After two hundred years, visitors can once again admire the monuments and souvenirs from the collection of Princess Isabella. The Czartoryski Museum is located in one of the rooms of the Czartoryski Palace, and the exhibits on display there come mainly from the XX Museum. Czartoryski in Krakow. The exhibition is divided into two parts. The first presents the life and achievements of people directly related to Puławy in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The second part of the exhibition shows the history of the family after 1831, when they were forced to leave their ancestral residence. The exhibition ends with a presentation of the achievements of Princess Izabela's grandchildren - Władysław Czartoryski and Iza Działyńska, who with commitment and true passion maintained their family traditions in the field of collecting and museology. The Czartoryski Museum in Puławy offers visitors a wide range of educational activities, including workshops and museum lessons as well as thematic tours of the exhibition devoted to art, music, literature and theater at the court of the Czartoryski dukes.
