Information

Orla Perć (Eng. Eagle’s Path) is the most difficult and dangerous tourist path located entirely on the Polish side of the Tatra Mountains. The path starts at Zawrat pass (2159 m amsl) and finishes at Krzyżne pass (2112 m amsl), leading through several peaks and traversing others. Walking the Orla Perć route requires good physical condition, resistance to high exposure and experience in moving in rocky terrain. The route was mapped out in the years 1903-1906 by priest Walenty Gadowski according to the idea of Franciszek Nowicki. Counting from Zawrat to Krzyżne, the route takes about 6-7 hours (not counting the time of stops for rest or a meal). However, it should be remembered that you still have to go to Zawrat and descend from Krzyżne, to one of the valleys. In many more difficult places you encounter artificial facilities in the form of chains, ladders and clasps. It's best to divide the entire route into two days with the option of sleeping in shelters. The Orla Perć is dominated by traverses, in places the trail runs along a ridge, but due to the terrain, it often moves away from it, avoiding peaks and turns. As the main trail, it is marked in red. There are some facilities on the trail (chains, clasps and two steel ladders), however, it is not considered suitable for beginner mountain hikers. There are numerous exhibitions here, which is why it is strongly discouraged from people with fear of heights.

Please note that ITS-Poland works with groups only (10 participants and more).
