Information

The aqueduct in Fojutowo (Polish: Akwedukt w Fojutowie) lays 95 km from Bydgoszcz (about 1 h 40 min drive) and 110 km from Gdańsk (about 1 h 45 min drive). It is a hydro-technical architecture monument, built in 1845-49, where two waterways cross: Czerska Struga (a lower watercourse) and Wielkii Kanał Brdy (Great Brda Canal), (a higher watercourse). The aqueduct is 75 m long, which means that it is the longest building of this type in the country. The difference of levels of both water ways is 11 m. Under the aqueduct ceiling there is a pathway for tourists who want to admire this unusual construction. The tourist rout first leads along the aqueduct next over it via wooden bridge and then tourists go under the aqueduct. As river junctions are rather rare, Fojutowo attracts many tourists. After the sightseeing, visitors can also rest in a nearby restaurant and hotel
