Hel town is a magnet for tourists thanks to white, sandy beaches not only in Gdańsk Bay but also from the open sea side. It is a tourist resort, one of the most well known Polish bathing sites but also a fishing centre, navy garrison, yacht marina and passenger harbour. The most popular sites among tourists include: the harbour, lighthouse, sea fishery museum, coast defence museum, sea weaponry open museum and children’s favourite seal centre. The town itself is quite picturesque with old 18th and 19th century fisher folk houses. Hel is an excellent place for family holidays at Baltic Sea.
