Information

The former castle and prince’s residence were constructed in 1132. Still, during its history the building was destroyed and reconstructed many times. Nowadays, it has a Baroque style. The palace has two wings and 3 floors. Around it there is a dry moat and fortifications that are used as a terrace. In the basements there are relics of the old castle from 1271. The building survived the World War II without major devastations but unfortunately, it burnt in 1953. Since then, after reconstruction works, it has been a culture centre. Unfortunately, original interior design and furniture has been lost. The palace is situated in the southern part of Leśnicki Park therefore, it is good to combine a trip to the palace with a stroll in the park.
