Information

Marysieńka is an anti-nuclear bunker, built in the 1950s as a backup military command post. On September 19, 2018, it was made available to visitors. Occasional exhibitions can be seen in the building, with an area of approximately 80 square meters, located on the surface of the shelter. However, 15 m below, in the underground level, you can see rooms and equipment, thanks to which the shelter could function autonomously. It was built in Rzeszów during the Cold War in 1956-1960. It was open for almost 50 years, until 2009. Its existence was kept secret. The facility was self-sufficient, 58 people could survive there for 21 days. Its area is approximately 380 square meters. There are a number of rooms underground, including hydrophore with its own deep wells, aggregation room, ventilation room, living rooms, conference room and kitchen. It is probably one of the four remaining class I autonomous facilities of this type in Poland to date. The bunker is located at 3 Królowej Marysieńki Street in Rzeszów. Currently, it is leased by the Private Museum of Technology and Military in Rzeszów. The museum has collections in the form of restored historic cars of Polish and French production from the 1950s, including cars "Warszawa", "Syrena", "Citroen" and vintage motorcycles, incl. "Sokół", "Junak" and "Jawa". In addition, the museum has collections of household and electronics equipment from the mid-twentieth century, such as: radios, turntables, irons, washing machines, etc. A significant part of the collection are military - large collections of military equipment and equipment, gorgets and military commemorative coins. The museum's collections have been gathered for about 15 years through purchases on car and antiques markets.
