Information

The Iron Ore Mining Museum in Częstochowa is the only institution of its kind in the country that shows the history and development of ore mining in Poland. It is located in the Stanisław Staszic Park, adjacent to the Jasna Góra Monastery. The exhibits for the exhibition come from the iron ore mines of the Częstochowa region, incl. "Rudniki", "Węczyca", "Sabinów", "Grodzisko", "Dźbów", "Barbara", and the largest number of them comes from the "Szczekaczka" Mine in Brzeziny. The exhibition presents paving workings in wooden and steel casing, the pump chamber and a fragment of the exploitation "wall" with the casing and equipment with machines and devices. Original machines and means of transport were placed in the sidewalks and chambers. In the exhibition room divided into separate stands, a full set of tools and machines used in the past in the work of miners was shown. Collected, among others numerous types of housings for mine workings, mining lamps and minerals. Historical tools and methods of extracting iron ore are also presented. The museum's curiosity is the underground corridors decorated in the image of old mines. The museum is located on the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian Voivodeship.
