Museum of Milling and Agriculture in Osieczna

Information

The Museum of Milling and Agriculture in Osieczna is a private museum located in Osieczna, run by a company based in Leszno. The museum is located in two of the three windmills from the second half of the 18th century, survivors from a group of several such buildings, located on the Szubienica hill, on the road to Leszno. The exhibitions are located in the "Franciszek" and "Józef-Adam" windmills (the third windmill - "Leon" - is privately owned and not part of the museum). The "Franciszek" windmill houses an exhibition of historical and ethnographic mementoes from Greater Poland, Lower Silesia and the Lubuskie Region. There are old tools, everyday objects, folk costumes and folk art. In the "Józef-Adam" windmill, the historic interior of the mill has been reconstructed, preserving the original devices and equipment. The facility also organizes history lessons as well as painting and sculpting outdoor activities.
